Plans in place for 2017...

I have lots of plans for my craft business in 2017. I have written my plan and shared it with my life coach who will ensure I keep to it and achieve my goals.

I also have or I should say we have big plans for the old homestead.

We did work on the yard last year and this year it's inside that is getting it and it desperately needs it.

Follow me here to see the changes and for updates on my business.

Enjoy the rest of your day

Cute Bunny from...

a much loved cashmere sweater that those pesky moths made a meal of.
The sweater belongs to a friend of mine and she was telling us about the moth attack. She was about to throw it away when I suggested I could turn it into something to love.
and here he is

I discovered a small moth hole after I had stuffed him so added a cute patch

fluffy tail made from cotton batting

My friend adores her knew little friend.

enjoy your day and remember that there is life after moth attacks ;o)

Finished custom order

I do apologise folks I did say I would post about my finished custom order and I forgot. Well here it is... I drew the shape of the owl to get the base pattern piece then cut a wing shape to make the wing pattern and did the same for the beak, peak and 'ears'.

I made the eyes using felt, then hand stitched the to the body, the peak is made from the same fabric as the wings and the beak is felt, the 'ears' are made from the same fabric as the feet and the right one has thin batting inside to give some firmness to it. The ears, peak and beak were stitched in place first then I applied the eyes.

I used thick wadding inside to ensure a nice quilted feather finish to the body. I hand stitched the wings onto the body.

The full moon is made of felt with thick wadding inside and the hanger is 22 gauge wire.

The feet have thinner batting inside and machine stitched to give the impression of the toes. The branch is from my garden and makes the perfect finish.

This owl is double sided so my customers daughter can hang it in her room's window so both she and her fellow students get to enjoy him.

My customer absolutely adores him.

Plaited garlic...

My first attempt at plaiting garlic. Not quite Monty Don standard but hey we all have to start somewhere.

The bulbs aren't as big as last years crop as I discovered too late not to plant with or where onions had been. I planted with onions and I think it affected the growth of both onions and garlic.

My white onion crop wasn't too bad but my red onions did nothing. Come October/November when I sow my onions and garlic I will plant the garlic in an old tin bath that belonged to my Mum and Dad.

Off to get some ironing done before it gets too hot.
