Sipping on hot French vanilla coffee...

...and wondering what to do with my next with my current project. You see I had purchased quite some time ago some cute garden angel fabric panels, the image measures 51/2 inches square. I thought about make large cushions out of them having 4 different images per cushion, but in the decided to cut them all individually and make up potpourri sachets with ribbons to hang them with.

I have completed quite a few but now I'm not sure whether to do the rest as potpourri sachets or to stuff them and make them into little pillows that can be tucked in various places in your home.

This is where I need your help. I'd like you to give me your thoughts on what to do. Here are a couple of photo's, one of a completed potpourri sachet and one waiting to be finished.

I look forward to hearing your suggestions.

Housework can wait...

I have decided that after many days and weeks of cold weather and working in the garden, the one day of gorgeousness will not be spent indoors doing housework.

So here I am sitting out on the decking enjoying a lovely cup of hazelnut cinnamon coffee and about to write a proposal for creating a craft club at work.

My view from the decking
laptop, proposal notes & coffee

The idea will be to get like minded folks together to  chat, share and work on projects. It will also be open to people who want to learn a craft, especially if retirement is looming and they want a hobby. We will also do presentations and demonstrations as well as classes.

I still have the idea to hold small classes at home. I will see how the ones at work go first.

Oh and in case anyone is wondering what the fluffy duster is for, it was to get rid of the cobwebs on the seat ;o).

Catch y'all soon

First Etsy Sale & Blog plan

I'm so excited, I opened my Etsy shop in January this year and I have just had my first sale woo hoo!!!

A lovely lady has purchased my pack of blueberry muffin scented candle/wax tarts, they smell so yummy you could eat them ;oD. They are going off to her today.

I don't have a lot of stock in my shop at the moment and my Folksy shop is getting less and less as my plan is to take some decent photo's of my items now I know how and re-stock gradually.

Now for the my blog plan.

Because I have a day job to go to ;0( I find I don't have the time to post all that regularly and especially not daily (which I would love to do) about my crafts, ideas, garden etc. So I have decided that I will post once a week, usually at the weekend (Friday through Sunday); that way I can update you on what I have been up to and so on.

The past two weekends I have been working on knew products for an upcoming craft fayre I organise at work during the lunch period June 18th just before Father's Day weekend.

Here is a taster:

Herb plant stakes
Lavender & wheat Cath Kidston fabric pillows
My own hand printed cushions
Embroidered panel cushion
Signs for Dad's as gifts for Father's Day
Framed starfish

I have my own cross stitch design models to make up and photograph so I can take my own patterns to the fayre also.

Craft Jumble...

Burnham Stitch & Craft Club hold a craft jumble
once a year, usually at the beginning of March.
This year is was on Saturday 7th. I went along with my
shopping list.

I didn't get everything I wanted but I did get some fabulous bargains.

I got a heap of DMC threads, white, cream and off white
woven fabric to use with my cushions. Some lovely old wood
knitting needles that have a fab patina. A wicker basket
(I can't resist a basket) and linen fabric for
my cross stitch and embroidery.

I love the patina of this needle
wonderful patina of this hand made needle

This one looks to be hand made

It was suggested I could use tis large needle to do broomstick crochet
which I will at some point. Yet another craft to add to what I
already do:

punch needle
painting
cross stitch
embroidery
sewing
candle making
knitting
crochet

soon rug hooking and broomstick crochet.
