I have finally got some new items listed onto my Folksy site

 

 

 

 

 

 

My mini and large snowmen pegs. They can be used to decorate your Christmas tree, hold gift tags to presents or to hang your Christmas cards on a jute string line.

 

 

I have listed my cinnamon spice candles and my scented wax dipped pine cones

As the wax is a thin coating you can not only put them in a bowl (as shown) or add them to my rosehip potpourri, you can put them on open fires and in log burners to release the scent, but only use  a couple at a time.

 

 

They come packaged in a cellophane bag with approx 25 cones to a bag.

 

I have also listed my rosehip potpourri

One full cup of scented rosehips to give your home a warm subtle Christmas/winter aroma.

 

 





Wax dipped pine cones.....

I have bags of medium to small pine cones which I am in the process of dipping in scented wax:

 

Cinnamon Apple

Cinnamon Spice

Cinnamon Vanilla

Fireside (wood smoke)

 

I will be packaging them 15 to a bag which can be placed in a bowl on the their own or added to pot pourri and you can even put them on the an open fire or in a log burner (not for gas fires).

Made some candles

You may remember a post last month where I mentioned I had purchased a number of candle tins.

Well I bought some soy wax (which fortuitously came with wicks) and I have made a dozen candles from the 1kg of wax.

I scented them using scented wax cubes.

My Halloween Home

I have been decorating my home for Halloween, well just the outer hall, lounge and conservatory. Here are a few pictures...

 

In my outer hall, a basket of faux pumpkins and scented pinecones with my pumpkin man and ghost.

My mantelpiece in my lounge. The pumpkin lights are on but don't show up ;o(

 

 

A table arrangement with little fairy lights you can just make out are on. This has since had an electric tea light placed in the goblet. The little Halloween pillowa on the childs chair are made by me.

 



Foraging for Blackberries & Finding Inspiration...

 

After reading one of Lori of Not Forgotten Farm posts where she had gone back to her home town for a visit and went round the cemetery there and found a carving on a headstone which she converted into a punch needle pattern. Sooooo I thought I'd do the same.

 

One dull grey afternoon inbetween rain showers I went out with my basket and camera.

 

I collected some blackberries on the way to the cemetery, but not many, I think I left it a bit late to get a good harvest. Anyhoo, I carried on to the cemetary where I found some more blackberries bushes and ended up with enough for 1 pie, (they are now washed and in the freezer ready for use at Christmas).

 

I took a number of snaps, here are some of my favourites:

 

 

These three angels, all slightly different could be converted into a pattern for punch needle, rug hook or cross stitch; I haven't made up my mind yet.

 

This lady I think will be my first punch needle pattern, just waiting for my tool to come and I will start experimenting.

 

This one has what looks like a greyhound on it, it's an old headstone and has been battered by the weather, this could be a good punch needle or rug hook pattern.

 

This one has a diving bird on it, again it's not terribly clear as the stone is so weathered.

 

I will go to the other cemetery outside St. Mary's church in Burnham and see what inspiration I find there.

Candle making supplies...

 

 I bought (many moons ago) some candle tins and have decided it's time to put them to use so I've been researching some candle making supplies on eBay. I tell you it's worth doing some research as I've found warning labels (just the right amount I need) for 99p per sheet of 54, 1kg of soy wax with 20 wicks for £7.60 and 4 x 10ml candle scents fab for Christmas/winter for £11.75. Just all the right amount I need for this project as in general I don't make candles. All I need to do now is see what I have in my stash and order.
