Craft Jumble...

Burnham Stitch & Craft Club hold a craft jumble
once a year, usually at the beginning of March.
This year is was on Saturday 7th. I went along with my
shopping list.

I didn't get everything I wanted but I did get some fabulous bargains.

I got a heap of DMC threads, white, cream and off white
woven fabric to use with my cushions. Some lovely old wood
knitting needles that have a fab patina. A wicker basket
(I can't resist a basket) and linen fabric for
my cross stitch and embroidery.

I love the patina of this needle
wonderful patina of this hand made needle

This one looks to be hand made

It was suggested I could use tis large needle to do broomstick crochet
which I will at some point. Yet another craft to add to what I
already do:

punch needle
painting
cross stitch
embroidery
sewing
candle making
knitting
crochet

soon rug hooking and broomstick crochet.

A wonderful time was had

with my friend Sarah on Friday when she came over
to teach me how to take better photo's of my products.

The first thing she told me to do was to turn off the flash
as this distorts colours. Choosing the right background, how to
over expose and under expose depending on how the
light is on the subject. Using spot or centre weighted to direct the
light. I learned so much, now all I have to do
is put it into practise.

Here are some of the photos

This phot0 shows one of my handbag charms on a black
background, the stone is a bloodstone but you can't
see any detail. So we changed to grey

It shows up much better on the grey background and looks great
with the pebble.

I'm looking forward to re photographing my products and
photograph new products for my Etsy shop.

I'm so EXCITED!!!

As my friend Sarah of Sarah Stephens Photography is coming to show me how to take great photos of my hand made items for selling in my Folksy and Esty shops.

I can't wait as my photos are rubbish and they must be hindering my sales. though when I do take better photos I'm not expecting miracles just a few more sales... hopefully (she says with fingers crossed).

I will share more later ;o)

Prim blessings my friends
